Another epic arrival in The Smokey Shack this Spring was our Grillstream SmashGrill! We’ve got a various bits of awesome cooking gear in the shack including, Kamado Joe Classic III, Weber Mastertouch, Masterbuilt Gravity Series XT, Rozza Rotisserie and Gozney Arc XL. But we’ve always thought that a flat top grill was missing.
When the Grillstream team got in touch, we couldn’t help but add the SmashGrill to our cooking arsenal. Due to it’s popularity this beast of a flat top has been out of stock for some time. It also won best gas BBQ two years running (2024/2025). With a huge grilling area of 91cm x 44cm and four U shaped burners for even heat distribution, the SmashGrill has all the room you will ever need. The non stick plancha is also next level and built for British weather. You won’t see any rust here that’s for sure.

This thing is built like a tank! With recipes and ideas whirling round my head, the first cook had to be Smash Burgers. And boy these certainly didn’t disappoint. We use F1 Wagyu mince from Butcher Gav over at Yorkshire Craft Butchery. Once the hot plate was up to about 220c (read with an infrared thermometer) we got smashing! An epic crust soon formed and had a dusting of our Steakhouse Gaucho BBQ Rub.

We’ve also done steak with home fries (amazing crust on the steak). We’ve even tried pizza and smash tacos. We’re looking forward to trying out lots of recipes on the SmashGrill so watch this space! Keep an eye on our socials for lots of Grillstream content.
The Build
Check out the Grillstream build below in our unboxing video. We’ve built a fair few barbecues but the Grillstream SmashGrill was a cinch. It would have taken around 45 minutes or less but with all the filming and changing of camera angles it took around an hour and a half.
