How to Make Easy Seasoned Mayo, Dips & Sauces with The Smokey Carter

Our world-inspired seasonings aren’t just for rubbing onto meat or sprinkling over food before cooking. They’re also a quick and easy way to make seasoned mayo, homemade dips, burger sauces, sandwich spreads and creamy dressings.

Simply mix your favourite Smokey Carter seasoning into mayonnaise, sour cream, Greek yoghurt or crème fraîche and you can create a flavour-packed dip or sauce in seconds.

It’s one of the easiest ways to get even more use from your seasonings — whether you’re cooking chicken in the air fryer, making loaded fries, building burgers or simply looking for something tasty to dip your chips into.

How to Make a Simple Seasoning Dip

There’s hardly a recipe required.

For a quick homemade dip:

Mix 100–150g of mayonnaise, sour cream or Greek yoghurt with 1–2 teaspoons of your favourite seasoning.

Stir well, taste and add a little more seasoning if you want a stronger flavour.

If you have time, leave the dip for around 10–15 minutes before serving. This allows the herbs and spices to blend into the base and develop even more flavour.

From there, you can customise it with ingredients such as:

  • Fresh lemon or lime juice
  • Chopped coriander or parsley
  • Fresh garlic
  • A splash of hot sauce
  • A drizzle of honey
  • A little water to create a thinner dressing or drizzle

Make Your Own Seasoned Mayo

One of our favourite ways to use our seasonings is mixed straight into mayonnaise.

Seasoned mayo makes an easy sauce for:

  • Burgers and chicken burgers
  • Loaded fries
  • Chicken wings and tenders
  • Kebabs and wraps
  • Toasties and sandwiches
  • Potato wedges
  • Chips
  • Tacos
  • Corn on the cob
  • Grilled or roasted vegetables

Try Buffalo Dust BBQ Rub mixed into mayo for a creamy Buffalo-inspired sauce, or Texas Ranch BBQ Rub for an easy ranch-style dip.

For something with a little more warmth, Louisiana Cajun BBQ Rub works brilliantly in mayo alongside chicken, fries, burgers or seafood.

Easy Sour Cream and Greek Yoghurt Dips

Mayonnaise isn’t your only option.

Mixing seasoning into sour cream or Greek yoghurt creates a fresher, lighter dip that works particularly well with kebabs, spicy chicken, flatbreads and roasted vegetables.

Our world-inspired seasonings mean you can take a plain yoghurt dip in loads of different directions.

Try blends such as:

Greek Gyros with Greek yoghurt and a squeeze of lemon for a quick dip alongside chicken, flatbreads or roasted vegetables.

Tandoori Masala mixed through yoghurt for an Indian-inspired dip that works brilliantly with grilled chicken, wraps or onion bhajis.

Piri Piri with sour cream or mayo for a creamy dip with a little heat.

Turkish Kebab mixed into yoghurt for an easy sauce to spoon over kebabs, chicken, lamb or salad.

It’s an easy way to match your dip to the flavour of the rest of your meal.

Turn Plain Mayo Into a Burger Sauce

You don’t need lots of ingredients to make a good burger sauce.

Start with mayonnaise, add your favourite Smokey Carter seasoning and mix.

You can then add ketchup, mustard, chopped gherkins, hot sauce or a squeeze of lemon depending on the flavour you’re after.

Spread it over beef burgers, chicken burgers or veggie burgers, or use it as a dipping sauce for fries alongside them.

Make Flavour-Packed Sandwiches and Wraps

Seasoned mayonnaise also works brilliantly as a sandwich spread.

Mix one of our seasonings directly into mayo and spread it onto bread, wraps, rolls or toasties.

You can also mix the flavoured mayo straight through cooked chicken to create a quick sandwich filling.

It’s particularly useful for turning leftover chicken from the night before into lunch the following day.

Try experimenting with different seasonings and you can completely change the flavour without having to cook something new.

Quick Dips for Fries, Wedges and Loaded Chips

Air fryer chips and potato wedges are even better with a good dip alongside them.

Instead of reaching for a bottle of ready-made sauce, mix up a small bowl of seasoned mayo or sour cream while your potatoes are cooking.

You could even use the same seasoning on the potatoes and in the accompanying dip to bring the whole dish together.

For loaded fries, make your dip slightly thinner with a squeeze of lemon, lime or a splash of water and drizzle it straight over the top.

Perfect for Sharing

Homemade seasoned dips are also ideal for sharing food.

Put out a few bowls containing different flavoured mayo, yoghurt and sour cream dips alongside:

Chicken wings, chicken strips, chips, wedges, nachos, vegetable sticks, flatbreads and grilled meats.

Everyone can try different combinations and choose their favourite.

It works just as well for a summer BBQ as it does for a Friday-night picky tea or a quick weekend lunch.

More Than Just BBQ Rubs

At The Smokey Carter, we’ve always wanted our seasonings to be versatile.

Inspired by flavours from around the world, our seasonings can be used on meat, chicken, fish, vegetables and potatoes, whether you’re cooking in the air fryer, oven, pan or on the BBQ.

But don’t stop there.

Stir them into mayo.

Mix them into sour cream.

Add them to yoghurt.

Make dips, sauces, dressings and sandwich fillings.

Shake. Rub. Sprinkle. Mix.

Because creating flavour-packed food doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes all you need is a spoonful of mayo and a shake of your favourite seasoning.
