300g thick streaky smoked bacon
100g brown sugar
2 tablespoons of beer (We used Innis and Gunn)
2 tablespoons Chipotle & Bourbon BBQ Sauce
In a bowl, combine, sugar, beer and BBQ Sauce. Line a baking sheet with grease proof paper. Lay out the bacon. Place in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and brush bacon on both sides with brown sugar mixture. Place back in oven and repeat brushing process until sauce is gone and bacon is golden and crisp. Remove from oven and allow bacon to cool. Enjoy with an ice cold beer.
Try different variations. Use maple syrup instead of sugar. Maybe even whiskey instead of beer or hot sauce instead of BBQ.
