A little rub goes a long way


We usually say each 40g pack contains 1-4 servings, but this very much depends on what you are doing with your chosen rub. For example a large pork shoulder of 3-4 kilos, could take the whole 40g, covering every surface of the meat generously. A whole chicken or 2 medium sized pork chops, would need between 15-20g. One level tablespoon should be plenty for a large single chicken breast. When adding rubs to soups, curries and stir-fries start off with a teaspoon, and add more if you wish. As a rough guide usually 5g is a teaspoon, and a tablespoon is 10g.

Storage: Our rubs are best kept in a cool dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. We don’t like to use E numbers or other chemicals, therefore its best to store them correctly to prevent any clumping. If you do find that you get some clumping in your rubs, they are still perfectly fine to be used and can be broken up easily using your fingers or a folk.
